A gun is a gun regardless of its target or user/shooter. The gun need not be a weapon. x2 need not be matter/a traditional ballistic bullet/slug/ball/projectile; this word includes laser guns and the like. The propellant need not be chemical, but should not be a certain style mechanical (typically, a trebuchet would be excluded, but a spring-loaded round is acceptable); the projectile should follow a relatively/approximately linear path while inside/coupled with the gun. The projectile should not primarily be self-propelling/self-aiming (although note that light is self-propelling and modern bullets can be shaped so as to have bending trajectories; additionally, future bullets might have small thrusters on them that allow them to maneuver slightly); ballistic rocket-powered missiles are possibly excluded. Cannons, magnetic/rail guns, etc. are included. Rocket launchers may be included as well.
