notes

The relationship is like that of a spouse but does not require a contract or ceremony; it is only about coparenting. x₁ and x₂ are both involved in the creation and/or raising of x₃ according to x₄, but no cooperation or direct interaction is required. On a genealogical tree, if x₄ js biological relationships, this is the relationship between two biological parents of the same child, even if they never interacted beyond having sex with one another and were not mutually married. x₁ and x₂ are symmetric. x₄ is not limited to biological relationships, though.
