Used in English when the phrase "Plowing on anyway/despite/against one's better judgment" might apply, for example (depending on context). The utterer would use this construct in order to indicate that they thought better of saying something or considered brushing it aside/ignoring it but will utter it anyway. Other constructs (including possibly this one with empathy or non-self-orientation markers appended to it) may be used by the audience, depending on the context, in order to convey their intent to continue in a line of discussion that the utterer was trying to avoid (particularly after having alluded to it).
